We updated members last year on the requirements for EU Nationals who wished to stay post UK withdrawal from the EU of the new EU Settlement Scheme, which allowed those eligible the right to remain. Eligibility extends to EU Nationals who were living in the UK prior to the withdrawal date at and of December 2020.
The deadline for applications is the 30th June 2021, beyond which anyone not registered will not be eligible to stay and to work, and this will potentially have an impact on employers. Applications can be made using a PC, or via a smartphone.
The Scottish Government is sponsoring a campaign to make sure all of those eligible and who wish to stay are aware of the deadline and can access the application process. They have also created a web portal for information and access for EU Nationals to support them during the process, and to offer advice which is accessible here.
